It's coming to the end of my 8th day on the Master Cleanse, and I've come to a few eye-opening observations.

1. How little food we need to survive?  Remarkably, we can survive extended periods of time on nothing more than a few hundred calories of lemonade.  Compared to my diet from the past year, I've been consuming far more is necessary to not only sustain life but my health.

2. Despite the lack of science, there is something that happens biologically with the Master Cleanse to yield the results that it does.  As many people have already noted, my skin definitely looks clearer and more youthful.  The bags under my eyes are completely gone.  I don't have any gas; I'm sleeping more regularly.  The nagging cough that I'd been contending with for over a month is finally gone. My mind is more clear.  My body feels like it's moving at a more leisurely pace.  Overall, I feel less anxious.

3. The Master Cleanse manages to clear things from my bowels on a daily basis, in spite of the fact that I haven't had solid food for over a week.  It must be the contents of my digestive tract that would otherwise have accumulated in my body had I not done the cleanse.
