As anyone knows, living in a city tends to make one complacent and take things for granted that most tourists don't pass up. I thought it would be good for me to at least recall some of the places I've been and the things that I've done while in New York. Of course, an exhaustive list would be impossible, but I want to remind myself what I've done, so that I can leave without any regrets.
- Visited all 5 boroughs
- Visited the major museums the MET, the Guggenheim, MoMa PS1
- Went to the Brooklyn Bridge
- Walked over the Williamsburg Bridge
- Visited Wall Street
- Been to most, if not all, the major parks: Central Park, Bryant Park, Washington Square Park, Battery City Park, Prospect Park, McCarren Park
- Took a bus tour around the city
- Visited the South Street Seaport
- Visited the New York Public Library
- Went to Grand Central Station and Penn Station
- Went to Times Square
- Went to Governors Island and Roosevelt Island
- Rode on the Staten Island Ferry
- Ate at Grimaldi's and some of the other top pizzerias
- Went to the top of the Empire State Building
- Went Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum
- Ate dim sum in Chinatown
- Spent time at Koreatown
- Ate in Flushing
- Saw a few Broadway musicals: Les Miserable, Rent
- Saw a few concerts and live performances, such as Andrew Bird, Notorious MSG, etc
- Went to a couple of comedy shows
- Saw the New York Ballet
- Walked by the United Nations
- Went to the Time Warner Center
- Been to the Film Forum
- Been to some of the major venues: Webster Hall, Bitter End, Brooklyn Bowl
- Flown out of both Laguardia and JFK
- Been inside St. Patrick's Cathedral
- Been to every neighborhood below 77th St
- Went through the High Line
- Been to Strands Bookstore and Forbidden Planet Comic Bookstore
The only things that I haven't done which I should do are:
See a show at Caroline's comedy club
- Go to the Central Park Zoo and the Bronx Zoo
- Go to Coney Island
- Visit Brighton Beach
Visit FAO Schwartz toy store
Visit the Top of the Rock
- Visit the Natural Museum
- See a performance at Carnegie Hall
- Visit the Statue of Liberty
- Visit BAM
