It may be hard to imagine now, but there was a time back in the age of Mad Men when ads were made that would make us all cringe today. A collection of some of these wonderfully offensive ads have been put together on this site. Witness exhibit A: This french ad depicts a man sitting on his throne with his son on his knee, and his submissive wive sitting by his feet with the headline: "a woman, a pipe, and a sweater". Or take a look at this ad: It's so sexist that it hardly seems real.
