Continuing my thread on past design inspirations, I thought it would be nice to include a few graphics from the end of the 90s. There was a time in design when the David Carson aesthetic was all the rage. His style was unmistakable — distressed type, an unusual layout, and highly stylized imagery. That look was everywhere. The image below is a classic example of David Carson's work.
Nowadays, that style seems a bit played out, but there's some designs that to this day still stir me. And apparently, one of my old favorites, Jiong is still plugging away even now. The following are a few graphics that have remained on my hard drive after all these years, each reflecting that time period.
